Sharps Disposal
For sharps disposal, any sort of prescription/non-prescription medications, syringes, medical sharps, and any other types of bio-hazardous waste are not accepted in our garbage or curbside recycling programs. Ask your pharmacist if they accept these items to dispose of safely.
Sharps (needles and syringes) must be placed in a designated sharps container or non-penetrable container (like a detergent bottle) with a 1:3 ratio of bleach solution. Once the container is full, shake it so that all of the needles are rinsed by the bleach solution. Then empty out all liquids and seal the container. Bring that container down to any of the three drop off locations:

Unfinished or expired prescriptions can be dropped off at the Public Safety Building for disposal.
Over the counter medicines can be placed in the regular trash.
