What can you not throw away?
- Lithium batteries
- Chris Supply, Batteries Plus Bulbs, Lowes, and Interstate Battery all recycle batteries. These cannot be placed in the regular trash because they will explode and start a fire.
- Ashes (especially hot ashes)
- These need to be brought directly out to the landfill. They could cause a fire if they are in with the regular trash
- Non depleted aerosol cans
- Once they are depleted, they can be placed in the recycling can or regular garbage
- Unexploded fireworks
- Do not place these in the regular trash or at a remote site. They will start a fire. If you have some old or unused fireworks, completely submerge them in water and let them sit overnight. In the morning, wrap them in seran wrap so that they do not dry out. Please bring these directly out to the landfill.
- Flammables
- These must be disposed of at a Household Hazardous Waste event, they cannot be thrown away or dumped down the drain. Check in with our Facebook Page or the Upcoming Events tab to see when our next Household Hazardous Waste event is
