These are flammable liquids and we aren't able to accept them!
Please bring them to our Household Hazardous Waste event that we hold every other year. 

Please check the event page to see if we've scheduled the next one!

If you cannot wait until the next event, there are a few options.

Take the lid off of the container and let it evaporate

We cannot take more than five gallons.
If you have less than five gallons, you must bulk it up.
It needs to be completely absorbed with kitty litter or floor dry and then you can bring it straight out to the landfill.

This cannot be disposed of inside of your curbside can in case it catches fire in one of our trucks.

We will be verifying that it is fully absorbed and testing the gasoline prior to disposal.

 If you are a commercial business, you can call Safety Kleen. They will accept gasoline for disposal,
call them for an estimate!



There are no other resources in Rapid City for
​gasoline disposal.

If you are disposing of a gas can, it must be triple rinsed before bringing it out to the landfill for disposal.
