​The lithium battery needs to be taken off of the drill before disposal! 
You can take the lithium battery to a battery center but they cannot be thrown in the garbage because they will start a fire. 
Interstate Battery will not charge for the lithium battery!

After the battery is removed, you can place it inside of your regular garbage.
